In September 2011 we harvested our first batch of honey from one of our hives. When it was all said and done we ended up with 28 8oz. jars, along with a nice mound of cappings. After doing some research online we learned how to separate the wax from the honey. In the end we had 10.8 oz of wax. With a little more research online I found a simple all natural recipe for making lip balm. According to our testers (Family & Friends) it was a bit strong in the wax. Our next couple batches, Peppermint & Twin Hives with Vitamin E, were a big hit. They were even being sold at The Calusa Nature Center in Fort Myers. Our last batch was Spring Fling with Aloe and we are currently working on a summer lip balm. All Lip Balms can be purchased, and as always they are all natural.
We wanted to do something special to help celebrate National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. So we created Pretty in Pink. This limited edition pink lip balm, still all natural, with half of the proceeds going to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
